On the 4th of February 2024 my Mum underwent a Stem Cell transplant after struggling and battling for decades with her bloods, she made the decision that this was the best course of action. It's a really invasive procedure, which takes its toll on the mind and the body. Something that my Mum took in her stride, showing resilience and patience during her initial 6 weeks in hospital.
However, despite the transplant being an initial success, my Mum contracted COVID-19 3 weeks ago and her body was not able to cope with the damage the disease left on her lungs and she sadly passed away on the 17th of July 2024.
We are so grateful to The Anthony Nolan Trust for all their support and guidance, it was a charity my Mum was extremely proud to have a personal association with, and we encourage everyone to donate and find out how you can help in as many ways as you can!
